Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, data engineering teams, architects, and IT organizations to ensure data-driven solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value.
This role requires a highly
hands-on Data Business Analyst who is comfortable working with complex datasets, performing data profiling, analyzing source systems, creating pseudo code, defining transformation logic, and supporting end-to-end data initiatives. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of insurance data, data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and modern cloud-based data platforms.
Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for data engineering teams.
- Define business rules, KPIs, success criteria, and data use cases.
- Perform hands-on data profiling, data analysis, and data discovery to identify data quality issues, patterns, relationships, and business rules.
- Create and document pseudo code, transformation logic, source-to-target mappings, and data processing rules.
- Analyze and document data flows, data lineage, transformation logic, and integration requirements.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, and Developers on data integration, ETL/ELT, data pipeline, and data warehousing initiatives.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and solution review sessions.
- Act as the primary liaison between business users, data teams, and IT stakeholders.
- Define and validate test scenarios, test cases, acceptance criteria, and reconciliation requirements.
- Participate in UAT, data validation, defect triage, and issue resolution activities.
- Support data governance, data quality, security, compliance, and regulatory initiatives.
- Work closely with P&C Insurance business teams to support initiatives related to underwriting, claims, policy administration, billing, analytics, and reporting.
Required Skills & Experience: - 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst, with significant experience supporting Data Engineering or Data Warehousing projects.
- Mandatory experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry.
- Proven hands-on experience performing Data profiling, Data Analysis, Data mapping, Data Validation, Data Reconciliation, creation of pseudo code & Transformation Logic.
- Strong understanding of P&C Insurance business processes, including Policy Administration, Underwriting, Claims, Billing, and Insurance Data Management.
- Strong understanding of Business Analysis methodologies, requirements management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Experience working with data warehouses and data lake technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, or similar platforms.
- Exposure to cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
- Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.

- Knowledge of data governance, data privacy, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting P&C Insurance Data Modernization, Data Governance, Data Warehousing, or Analytics initiatives.
- Knowledge of insurance data models and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Agile, Cloud, Data Management, or Insurance are a plus.
