Role Summary

As a Consultant - Digital Commerce, you will work as part of our Strategy and Growth US (Business Transformation Advisory) Practice. Your primary role is to partner with clients to design, optimize, and grow their digital commerce strategies across eCommerce platforms, digital marketing channels, and customer touchpoints.

This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Retail, Manufacturing, Food and Beverages, and Life Sciences. You will assess current digital commerce ecosystems, recommending best-fit platforms and tools, and guiding clients through implementation, optimization, and ongoing growth initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and maintain quality, lasting relationships with clients.

You will proactively identify, quantify, and track the realization of value, preparing the customer's business for the impact of change. You will act as a trusted advisor to help organizations navigate digital transformation, adopt modern commerce technologies, and leverage analytics, personalization, and omnichannel strategies to drive measurable results.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategy Consultant

  • Leading strategic commitments. Gathering information, creating insight based on analysis to draw meaningful conclusions, identify implications for recommendations and gain understanding and acceptance by the customer
  • Follow Columbus framework approaches, tailoring them to specific customer needs.
  • Collaborating and contributing to the Advisory competence network, helping to continuously improve the offering through retrospectives on completed work.
  • Manage activities and deliveries according to plan, review drafts and provide feedback / coaching to other project members
  • Act as a catalyst and coach in projects that span over your area of expertise
  • Evaluate and manage risks and problems and ensure that the project objectives are achieved
  • Use AI appropriately to drive quality and accelerate delivery.


Account sales

  • Establish a reliable relationship with our clients' management where they see you as an advisor
  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with our customers (at all levels)


Pre-sales & Evangelist

  • You are part of our "Win team" when we take on new business in your area of expertise
  • You play an important role in developing new technology / strategy / consultancy opportunities with our clients and prospects, drafting proposals and agreeing to proceed
  • You act as a spokesperson & evangelist helping sales and marketing establishing Columbus Commerce on the US market


GTM
  • You will be a highly visible contributor to our GTM activities by contributing thought leadership social posts, articles and speaking at industry events on behalf of Columbus.


Partner Engagement
  • You will play a local role in our technology partner engagement by maintaining strong relationships with Columbus partners, organizing GTM activities together, maintaining a strong market awareness of partners and referring potential partners to our Global Partner Manager.


Service Development

  • You will take an active part in our service development and to communicate internally & externally about services.


Team Playing and Effective Communication

  • Control and carry out scheduled tasks on a daily basis, including following up on time consumption with the Line/Project Manager and the observance of entered contractual agreements.
  • Effectively communicate with your Manager and relevant Stakeholders on an on-going basis
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as requested.


Develop Yourself and Columbus

  • You are active and contribute to creating a stronger Columbus by contributing ideas, thoughts and solutions that you are happy to share in the form of, for example. blogs or webinars
  • Contribute to the continuous development of your team, the Company and the Group organisation, through knowledge sharing.
  • Keep up to date with changes/developments in the software and also in industry best practices, through self-learning, training and research.
  • Keep up to date with the development of the Columbus 9 doors offerings and all relevant associated products.
  • Provide support to your peers, your project team and the wider Columbus team for your specific areas of expertise.
  • Ensure that the Columbus business culture and values, which are the basis for our success, are maintained and developed further.
  • Display great team spirit & loyalty towards colleagues whilst maintaining a high-performance.
