Full Job Description
Denver Business Development is hiring for a full-time, unlimitedProgram Manager to joinourBusinessAttractionTeam. This position will perform high-level economic development activities that support the Citys business attraction, expansion, and retention work. This position may require travel up to 10% - 20% of the time. TheBusiness AttractionProgram Managerreports totheAssociate DirectorforGlobal Engagement and BusinessAttractionbysupporting and managingdomesticand globalbusiness attraction efforts, activities,outreachandprojectcoordination.This will include assisting incoordinatingthe Citys efforts to promote Denver tobusinessesofdifferent sizesanddifferent industries. The Business Attractionteam of Denvers Economic Development and Opportunity (DEDO) includes units focused on domestic business attraction, global engagement, innovation & entrepreneurship, and the Denver Downtown Development Authority.Theattractionunit will focus onidentifyingbusiness prospects,being familiar with citywide assets to promote Denvers unique attributes, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, andresponding to inquiriesin a timely mannerwith the required follow-up. In this role, you willbe responsible forsupportingbusiness recruitmentandretentioncampaigns, preparing written briefings, drafting speaking remarks for executives and elected officials,in addition tomanagingrobustprospect pipelines,economicbusinessincentivetoolsand CRM management. WhatYoullDo Business Recruitment: Conduct research for business prospects.Support preparation of presentation materials.Identifyopportunities to lead business recruitment missions orparticipatein relevant conferences or tradeshow exhibitions.Coordinatelogisticsfor business attraction activities. Activelyparticipateinandrespondtoanyadditionaldowntown Denvereconomicprojects. Identifyopportunities, and present value-driven proposals to promote Denver as a destination for business expansionand growth. Guide new and existing businessesthrough the start-up, scale-up, relocation or expansion process.Provide site selectionassistance. Coordinate with internaland external stakeholderswhen responding to RFPs, organizing site visits andwhenprogrammingspeaking engagements for executive leadership team. Maintain a wide and varied network of partners and serve as a liaisonwith other city departments and agencies toleveragenetworks andexpertisewhen promoting Denver. Maintain organized records,documents, and project files to ensure accuracy and transparency. Marketing/Communications: Manage Salesforce and ensure frequent entry of relevant data.Draft reports, briefing memos,event flyers,speakingremarksand data points. Work withDEDOsMar/Comms teamto create social media contentand business recruitment campaigns. Maintain updated content on marketingcollateral including website information, rankings, and industryoverviews. Assistwith designing layout and creating content for marketing materialsboth printed and electronic versions (including flyers, brochures, invitations, PowerPoint presentations, and website). Establish, enhance, andmaintainrelationshipswith local business leaders, commercial brokers, local Chambers, industry associations, business service providers, and Denver International Airport to strengthen understanding of the challenges,opportunitiesand shared efforts in sustaining our local business environment.
