The Business Associate is responsible for supporting business execution, expense governance, reporting, and operational activities across the Banking franchise. The role partners with business leaders and key stakeholders to support budgeting, expense oversight, governance requirements, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Current responsibilities include oversight and coordination of expense programs such as Charitable, Sponsorship and Membership (CSM) and Non-Revenue Generating (NRG) expenses while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Support business governance, oversight, and control activities across Banking businesses and functions, including Business Activity Owner (BAO) responsibilities where applicable.
- Provide guidance and support on expense management processes, governance requirements, and related business activities, including CSM and NRG expense programs.
- Partner with Banking Management to understand spending trends and implement best practices.
- Facilitate annual planning and budgeting activities, including support for key expense programs and governance initiatives.
- Support the review, tracking, and management of business expenses and governance-related requests, including charitable, sponsorship, membership, and other approved expenditures, ensuring spending remains within budget.
- Maintain relationships and coordinate activities with charitable organizations associated with Banking-sponsored initiatives.
- Ensure approvals and activities adhere to established business processes, governance requirements, and control standards.
- Maintain expense documentation, procedures, and process flows.
- Perform ongoing monitoring (OGM) and identify potential risks or control issues.
- Prepare management reporting, expense analytics, forecasts, and governance materials in partnership with India Global Services (IGS) and other global support teams.
- Complete compliance, governance, and reporting requirements.
- Support business execution initiatives, process improvements, governance activities, and strategic projects to enhance operational effectiveness across the Banking franchise.
- Support audits, business continuity initiatives, and ad hoc projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Citi policies, procedures, and applicable regulations while effectively managing risk.
- Leverage AI tools and perform appropriate quality checks to support the preparation and delivery of reports, analyses, and other ad hoc deliverables.
Qualifications- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with expense governance, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with P2P, Concur, and related expense management systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
EducationBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
