Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Requirement Management• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders.
• Conduct workshops, interviews, and requirement elicitation sessions.
• Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, and process flows.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Perform impact analysis for proposed changes and enhancements.
• Ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Insurance Domain Expertise• Analyze and support business processes related to:
o Policy Administration
o Claims Management
o Underwriting
o Billing and Payments
o Renewals and Endorsements
o Insurance Product Configuration
• Work closely with business users to improve operational efficiency.
• Support regulatory and compliance initiatives affecting insurance products and processes.
• Understand P&C, Life, Health, or Commercial Insurance business processes.
Data Analysis & PL/SQL• Write complex SQL queries for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights.
• Work with database teams to review stored procedures, packages, triggers, and functions.
• Validate data migration and transformation activities.
• Support UAT and production issue investigations using Oracle database and PL/SQL.
Application & Technical Collaboration• Collaborate with development teams working on Java-based applications.
• Understand application architecture and integration points.
• Participate in solution design discussions and provide functional inputs.
• Review technical designs to ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Coordinate with developers, architects, QA teams, and project managers.
Testing & Quality Assurance• Create and review test scenarios and test cases.
• Support SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
• Perform requirement validation and defect triage.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations.
Stakeholder Management• Act as liaison between business users and technical teams.
• Conduct project status meetings and requirement walkthroughs.
• Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to senior stakeholders. Manage stakeholder expectations and address business concerns proactively.
Required QualificationsExperience• 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Insurance industry.
• Proven experience working on large-scale application development or enhancement projects.
• Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
Insurance Domain KnowledgeStrong understanding of:
• Policy Administration Systems
• Claims Processing
• Underwriting Operations
• Insurance Product Lifecycle
• Premium Calculation
• Billing & Collections
• Regulatory Compliance Requirements
Technical Skills• Strong SQL and PL/SQL expertise.
• Experience querying databases
• Knowledge of stored procedures, packages, triggers, and views.
• Understanding of Java/J2EE-based applications.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as:
o Spring Boot
o Spring MVC
o Hibernate/JPA
o EJB
• Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations.
• Experience with data mapping and data analysis.
Tools & Technologies
• SQL Server Database
• SQL Developer / TOAD
• JIRA
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 90,000 - 100,000
