Job Description

The Business Analyst supports the Financial Systems team by conducting business, data, requirements, and process analysis to improve financial systems and related workflows. This role partners with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements, supports process improvement efforts, and contributes to projects such as data migrations, testing, audits, and data integrity initiatives. The position plays an important role in helping ensure financial systems, reporting, and processes are effective, well documented, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial and technical data and present findings in a clear, logical, and high-quality format.
  • Conduct business, data, and process analysis to identify requirements, gaps, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements for reporting, systems, and data solutions.
  • Develop requirements for reporting and data needs that can be leveraged by report developers and technical teams.
  • Analyze, maintain, and improve financial systems-related processes to support efficiency, consistency, and business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process- and data-related issues in partnership with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Evaluate data from system migrations to ensure quality, identify anomalies, and support issue resolution.
  • Create and maintain documentation for reporting requirements, business requirements, processes, and financial systems workflows.
  • Support projects related to financial systems, including data warehouse migrations, QA testing, audit support, and data integrity assurance initiatives.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support projects, audits, system enhancements, and business decision-making.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business analysis, data analysis, process analysis, or related roles.
  • 3+ years of experience in Finance, telecommunications, or a related business environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting data migrations, reporting, testing, or financial systems-related projects required.


Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate financial and technical data and identify actionable insights.
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis, requirements gathering, process analysis, and process improvement practices.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, reporting needs, processes, and systems workflows.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience supporting major data migration initiatives involving both business and IT stakeholders.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data and process issues and work collaboratively toward resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize work, take initiative, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on requirements for Power BI reporting and SQL data extracts.
  • Experience supporting financial systems or enterprise reporting environments.
  • Familiarity with QA testing, audit support, or data integrity initiatives.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions
  • Primarily office-based or remote office environment with regular use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Occasional additional hours may be required to support projects, testing cycles, audits, or system-related deadlines.
