Key Position Details:

This position will support Allina Health Retail and Specialty Pharmacy departments:

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders to evaluate reporting need and identify sources and tools best suited to a solution
  • Build checks or redundancies for operations critical information sources
  • Learn (if never exposed to) and integrate Epic reporting tools into dashboards to support analysis
  • Complete ad hoc reporting to support decision making process
  • Work with informaticists and other Analysts to prioritize and share work to support business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare/medical or pharmacy reporting and analytics
  • Previous usage of electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Willow Ambulatory PMS (pharmacy management system) or other similar systems
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI and related applications
  • Knowledge of pharmacy databases and applications
  • Experience with inventory management and associated reporting
  • Previous experience with medical or pharmacy supply chain and related vendors/wholesalers
  • Familiar with 340B drug discount program

Additional Information:

  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
  • 8-hour day shift
  • No weekends
  • Hybrid position - Must live within a commutable distance within the twin cities area in Minnesota

Job Description:

Helps improve routine to moderately complex organizational processes and systems by reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs. Performs detailed requirements analysis, documents processes, and performs user acceptance in order to understand the problem, formulate the requirements and deliver the solution.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Analysis and documentation.
    • Identifies and defines business requirements.
    • Constructs workflow charts and diagrams.
    • Validates resource requirements and develops cost estimate models.
    • Manages moderately complex requirement conflicts, and escalates complex to highly complex requirement conflicts to senior level staff.
    • Implements, modifies, tests, and administers business system applications under minimal supervision.
    • Improves current systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
    • Documents and communicates processes in need of improvement.
  • Customer management and support.
    • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Implements, tests, and deploys solutions to business problems.
    • Supports business transition and helps to establish change.
  • Project management.
    • Manages small projects, develops project plans, and monitors project performance.
    • Prioritizes initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 2 to 5 years experience in a business analyst role or related field


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field

Pay Range

Pay Range: $34.24 to $46.93 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
