Senior Business Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support major software enhancement and system modernization initiatives focused on improving student outcomes.
The Business Analyst will serve as the primary link between program stakeholders and software development teams, gathering and documenting requirements throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). This role will also support requirements management, process improvement, testing, and post-implementation enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze business and system requirements through interviews, JAD sessions, document analysis, surveys, use cases, and workflow analysis
- Analyze business processes, user needs, pain points, and system capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop clear business and functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and software requirements specifications
- Create wireframes and mockups following UX best practices
- Manage requirements, changes, and status throughout the SDLC
- Use Jira, Modern Requirements, and related tools to track and communicate requirements
- Support business process re-engineering and software process improvements
- Mentor peers and promote business analysis best practices
Required Experience
- 8+ years eliciting requirements and developing well-written system requirements
- 8+ years working with software development life cycles (SDLC)
- 8+ years of business process re-engineering and software process improvement
- 8+ years developing user stories and use cases
- 8+ years designing mockups and/or wireframes
- 5+ years demonstrating strong communication and facilitation skills
- 5+ years demonstrating strong writing and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
- 4+ years working with an education agency, school system, or education vendor
- 2+ years working with Atlassian Jira
- 2+ years working with a requirements management tool such as Modern Requirements
