Building Sciences Engineer, you will contribute to shaping safer, more resilient, and longer-lasting buildings across BC's Lower Mainland. You'll gain hands-on exposure to building performance, restoration, capital planning, and investigative work-both in the office and in the field. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, curiosity, and the opportunity to explore different environments.
Your Impact- Contribute to building investigation reports, design documentation, and technical appendices alongside seasoned building science professionals.
- Participate in building envelope reviews, restoration assessments, site investigations, and condition verifications.
- Perform non-invasive investigations that may involve ladders, heights, confined spaces, and detailed field measurements.
- Visit active construction sites to document observations, verify compliance, and collect field test results.
- Support our involvement with a wide variety of buildings across residential, commercial and education sectors.
- Develop towards specification writing and CRCA and project management roles.
- Conduct property condition assessments and prepare clear, detailed depreciation reports used by strata corporations, asset managers, and building owners.
- Develop capital plans that support long-term decision-making and responsible investment for diverse client groups.
- Enhance the team's knowledge systems by sharing insights, lessons learned, and best practices.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Building Science, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Eligibility or registration with EGBC as an Engineer or Engineer-in-Training.
- Prior experience in consulting engineering, building assessments, or restoration work.
- Foundational knowledge of building materials, construction processes, building envelope systems, and mechanical/electrical components.
- Ability to interpret drawings, collect field data, and synthesize findings into clear and concise reports.
- Comfortable working in varied field environments and performing hands-on investigative tasks.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $77,400 to 102,500
MB & ON: $70,600 to 97,200
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $69,900 to 92,900
