Job Summary

The Building Operations Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for workplace services across the corporate campus and assigned facilities. This role establishes service standards, leads and develops workplace operations teams, manages key vendor partnerships and operating budgets, and drives continuous improvement in employee experience, space utilization, service delivery, and operational readiness. The position serves as a trusted partner to business leaders in aligning facilities operations with evolving business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day workplace operations across assigned corporate facilities, including direct oversight of reception services, building services operations, and workplace support staff.
  • Oversee front desk operations and visitor management to ensure a professional, welcoming experience for employees, candidates, guests, and vendors.
  • Manage access-control processes, including employee badge administration, to maintain a secure workplace environment.
  • Manage workplace systems and records, including office assignments, seating charts, occupancy data, conference room scheduling platforms, and space utilization information.
  • Coordinate office moves, workstation setups, furniture installations, departmental relocations, and workspace readiness activities in partnership with Human Resources, IT, and business leaders.
  • Establish service-level standards, key performance indicators, and reporting for reception, mailroom, conference center, building services, and vendor-delivered services.
  • Drive continuous-improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and employee experience.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures, service standards, escalation protocols, and governance processes for workplace operations.
  • Manage mailroom and print services operations, including shipping and receiving, package distribution, courier services, mail processing, and multifunction device support.
  • Manage workplace service requests and ensure timely resolution of operational, facility, and employee service issues.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify operational, appearance, safety, maintenance, and service concerns.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships and contracted services, including landscaping, moving services, locksmiths, pest control, and general building maintenance, while monitoring service quality, contract compliance, and performance expectations.
  • Plan and execute facility projects, office renovations, space reconfigurations, workplace improvements, and operational initiatives.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets; approve invoices within delegated authority; identify cost-saving opportunities; monitor operating expenses, and maintain operational documentation and inventory records.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of facilities operations, workplace services, office operations, property management, hospitality management, or related experience.
  • 3+ years of leading teams, vendors, or multi-function operations.
  • Experience leading employee-facing service functions, including workplace services, reception, mailroom, conference center, hospitality, or facilities support operations.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, service contracts, and operational service delivery.
  • Experience establishing KPIs, service-level agreements, and performance-reporting processes.
  • Experience leading change initiative, workplace projects or service transformations across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective partnerships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, workplace management technologies, access control systems, or similar operational platforms.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), or other related industry certification.
  • Experience supporting multi-building corporate campuses.
  • Experience with workplace reservation platforms, access control systems, and space planning tools.
  • Experience managing facilities operating budgets.
  • Experience supporting executive events, large employee meetings, and workplace programs.
  • Knowledge of workplace ergonomics, occupancy planning, and corporate space utilization practices.

Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk long distances to cover the property portfolio.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and move throughout multiple buildings and campus locations.
  • Must be able to move, assemble, position, and reconfigure office furniture, conference room equipment, workplace materials, and event-related assets.
  • May be required to load, unload, transport, and distribute furniture, equipment, office supplies, packages, and other workplace materials.
  • Must possess the ability to inspect facilities, identify operational issues, and safely access various areas of company facilities.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and workplace support equipment as necessary.
  • Must be able to work in both office and field environments throughout the campus.
  • Regular use of computers, mobile devices, printers, and office technology equipment.
  • May occasionally work outdoors while supporting campus operations, inspections, deliveries, or events.
  • May occasionally be required to work evenings, weekends, or outside normal business hours to support special events, facility emergencies, operational requirements, or business continuity activities.
  • Ability to operate company-owned vehicles, vans, carts, or similar transportation equipment as needed.
