Richelieu Hardware is looking for a Building & Operational Assets Manager - Multi-Site for the JOB LOCATION, PROVINCE

Reporting to the Director of Operations, theBuilding & Operational Assets Manager - Multi-Site is responsible for the management, maintenance, compliance, and optimization of the physical infrastructures of two distribution centers and the Ville Saint-Laurent head office. The role also oversees operational assets such as forklifts, material-handling equipment, and critical systems used across the national network.

This position ensures a safe, efficient, compliant, and well-maintained work environment while supporting daily operational performance, cost control, and continuous improvement.

More specifically, the main responsibilities of the position are to:

1. Facility & Infrastructure Management
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for all buildings.
  • Ensure proper functioning of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, security, and fire-protection systems.
  • Coordinate work with external contractors and service providers.
  • Plan, prioritize, and supervise maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements.
  • Support building-related investment planning and compliance with regulatory, safety, CNESST, and insurer requirements.

2. Operational Assets Management
  • Manage the fleet of forklifts and material-handling equipment across the national network.
  • Oversee operational equipment at the Ville St-Laurent sites (conveyors, storage systems, critical equipment).
  • Maintain preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs and inspections.
  • Track asset condition, lifecycle, performance, and maintenance costs.
  • Recommend replacements, upgrades, or acquisitions as needed.

3. Operational Supplies Procurement
  • Manage purchasing and inventory of operational supplies.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to support productivity.
  • Evaluate and recommend suppliers based on cost, quality, and service.
  • Negotiate pricing and service agreements.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure budget compliance.

4. Budget, Contracts & Cost Control
  • Develop and manage budgets related to facilities, equipment, and external services.
  • Oversee service contracts (maintenance, inspections, rentals, procurement).
  • Analyze operating costs and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Implement performance indicators for maintenance, spending, and asset performance.

5. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with operations teams to support daily activities.
  • Respond quickly to issues affecting productivity (equipment failures, infrastructure problems).
  • Prioritize interventions based on safety and operational impact.
  • Contribute to improving facilities, maintenance processes, and asset management practices.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams regarding buildings, equipment, and service providers.


Requirements :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facility management, industrial maintenance, asset management, logistics operations, or a similar role.
  • Experience in distribution centers, warehousing, logistics, or production environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial/commercial building systems.
  • Knowledge of material-handling equipment (forklifts, conveyors, etc.).
  • Experience managing suppliers, contracts, and service levels.
  • Strong budgeting, cost-control, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards (CNESST).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and urgent situations.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with standard computer tools; experience with maintenance or asset-management systems is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset for national supplier interactions.
