Your Role As an Associate-level Architect or Engineer in our Forensics practice, you will leverage your experience investigating, assessing, designing repairs for, and rehabilitating building enclosure systems, including facades, roofing, waterproofing, windows, and curtain walls.
In this role, you will lead multidisciplinary investigations, develop repair solutions, prepare technical reports and construction documents, and manage client relationships. You will support forensic investigations, litigation support assignments, condition assessments, and restoration projects involving existing buildings.
What You'll Do - Lead façade and building envelope investigations for commercial, institutional, residential, and historic structures.
- Perform field assessments of masonry, stone, concrete, curtain wall, window wall, roofing, and waterproofing systems.
- Diagnose water infiltration, façade distress, material failures, and construction defects.
- Develop repair and rehabilitation strategies based on investigation findings.
- Prepare technical reports, repair documents, drawings, specifications, and construction administration deliverables.
- Manage façade inspection programs, condition assessments, and restoration projects.
- Coordinate material testing, water testing, and forensic evaluations.
- Support expert witness services, insurance claims investigations, and litigation-related assignments as needed.
- Mentor and supervise engineers, architects, and project managers.
- Participate in proposal development, client presentations, and business development efforts.
- Collaborate with structural, architectural, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
What You'll Bring - Licensed Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in building envelope consulting, façade engineering, restoration, or forensic investigations.
- Strong knowledge of building enclosure systems, including masonry, stone and terra cotta, curtain walls and windows, roofing systems, and waterproofing assemblies.
- Experience preparing repair documents and construction administration services.
- Familiarity with building codes.
- Excellent written communication and technical report-writing skills.
- Experience managing client relationships and project teams.
- Experience with façade forensic investigations and failure analysis preferred.
- Experience with water infiltration and leak investigations preferred.
- Expert witness or litigation support experience preferred.
- Experience with construction defect investigations and remediation design preferred.
CompensationThe rate for this position generally is $118,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New Jersey Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
