Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, and life-safety systems
  • Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and respond to tenant service requests
  • Support the seasonal startup and shutdown of boilers, cooling towers, and related equipment
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to complete repairs and maintenance
  • Manage parts inventory and maintain maintenance records
  • Assist with snow removal, vendor escorts, and emergency building needs
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies

About you

As the Building Engineer, you are a technical and engineering expert, familiar with maintenance systems and equipment. You bring strong organizational skills, a customer-centric approach, and a positive outlook to everything you do.

You'll be responsible for all preventive maintenance, necessary maintenance, and repairs to the building's mechanical, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems, ensuring the maintenance systems are running efficiently and to ensure the safety of our clients and their properties. You have a working knowledge of life safety, fire protection, and security systems to ensure proper operations and be able to act upon any conditions that are out of the ordinary.

You also understand how to develop and maintain strong relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders. With a keen eye for detail, you'll be able to successfully manage multiple priorities and reports, including inventory, records, and schedules.

In This Role, You Will:

What You'll Bring:
  • 3+ years of commercial building maintenance or building engineering experience.
  • 1-2 years of HVAC technical school training.
  • Class C Boiler License and Refrigeration License required.

Area / Location Specific: St. Paul, MN

Approximate Compensation Range for this Role: $32.60/hour - $45.00/hour

Our compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all national locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
