MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Master's Degree in educational administration or related field.
  2. Valid Michigan administrative certification.
  3. Minimum of three (3) years administrative experience.
  4. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching or similar school experience.
  5. Valid Michigan teaching certification.
  6. Must possess good written and oral communication skills and possess the ability to interact positively with a broad spectrum of individuals and organizations.


PERFORMANCE DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES (summary includes but is not limited to the following):
  1. Serves as building principal.
  2. Responsible for the safety and administration of the assigned school building.
  3. Understands and implements the terms of the Master contracts.
  4. Interprets and implements Board of Education policies and administrative guidelines relating to the Beecher Community School District.
  5. Promotes curriculum improvement and insures that instructional programs and courses are implemented consistent with building and district objectives.
  6. Work with Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Data to implement Title I program services and At Risk Programs within building.
  7. Develops and monitors the annual school budget; works with budget manager on budgeting, purchasing, and monitors expenditures.
  8. Directs the planning of all aspects of instruction including scheduling and registration of students and the development of a master schedule.
  9. Provides general supervision to students.
  10. Director of student recruitment.
  11. Hearing officer for student suspensions and expulsions.
  12. Prepares student-parent handbook that includes student code of conduct which is consistently enforced.
  13. Establishes/enforces building expectations for students, staff, and outsourced contractors (clerical, custodial/maintenance, security, grounds, transportation, guest teachers, etc.).
  14. Participates in the district and building school improvement process.
  15. Keep current on federal, state, and local rules, guidelines, and regulations to ensure building accountability compliance.
  16. Overseer of building website.
  17. Recruitment/retention of building staff.
  18. Supervises and evaluates certified and non-certified building staff.
  19. Coordinates building parent-teacher conferences.
  20. Coordinates monthly building reports for the Board of Education.
  21. Administrative and/or teacher mentor.
  22. Assists with state testing preparation(s).
  23. Participates in district-wide activities, in-services, committees, as appropriate.
  24. Performs such other tasks and assumes responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.
  25. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment within the District.


REQUIREMENTS:
Newly hired employees must satisfactorily pass:
  1. Reference checks
  2. Police clearance including digital fingerprinting.


ANNUAL SALARY:
$85,000 - $90,000. Exceptional administrative fringe benefits available.
