About the Position: This position is with the HQ, US Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Military Programs, Environmental Division, Environmental Integration Branch. It is located at 441 G St NW in Washington, D.C. and it will be filled on a permanent basis.

• Serves as the Environmental Division's Budget Analyst with responsibilities for the formulation and justification of budget requests, and execution of the Environmental Program budget.
• Reviews budgetary actions for validity, ensures compliance with correct documentation and funds are being utilized to meet organizational mission goals.
• Ensures that all phases of the budgetary/programmatic process are accomplished in accordance with governmental law, and regulations, to include Congressional mandates.
• Participates in budget meetings concerning the environmental programs and advises on the financial status, discusses operations of the environmental program, progress and accomplishments, and probable effects of alternative actions.
• Prepares a variety of reports covering the status of funds, and advises program managers and other management officials on the availability of funds.

• This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent will be required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of the Financial Management certification program.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing fund control functions to include coordination, planning and management of reimbursable transactions administered through the execution of approved budgets and programs.; 2) Developing methods for specialized requests for information for use in analyzing trends, developing workload projections, and other management requirements.; 3) Preparing a variety of reports covering status of funds, expenses, and obligations as required by Division leadership or program managers; 4) Assisting with formulating budgetary policy and instructions to support the organization's mission and functions; and 5) Reporting on the actual use and rate of expenditure of funds against the planned budget and provides written narratives to justify variances.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Education
