Full Job Description
Join AXA XL as a Broker Relationship Leader, where you will drive the growth and profitability of our portfolios across the Americas by fostering strong relationships with key brokers, key customers and Underwriting Teams. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the insurance industry including knowledge in multiple insurance products, robust analytical skills, and a proven ability to execute.

What you'll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Broker Relationships - manage relationships with key Canadian brokers in collaboration with the Chief Underwriting Officers for Large Commercial and Middle Market in Canada by:
  • analyzing and utilizing data to deepen relationships with distribution partners across Canada;
  • ensuring brokers are well informed about the business appetite of various lines and identifying opportunities to distribute / cross-sell additional products and services;
  • ensuring AXA XL receives all agreed upon services, data, and support from brokers;
  • working with Legal and Compliance in maintaining broker contracts; and
  • developing and implementing other initiatives that will enhance trading relationships and portfolio profitability.


Client Relationships - support the Head of Client & Distribution, Canada in managing relationships with key customers by:

  • articulating and bringing to life AXA XL's value beyond the policy that will contribute to sustainable and profitable growth over the long term; and
  • contributing to an excellent experience in dealing with One AXA.

Product Relationships- work across all AXA XL product lines to influence:
  • a culture that puts clients first;
  • a mindset that is focused, fit and fast to solve problems together; and
  • growth in the Programs / Delegated Underwriting Authorities space.

You will report to the Head of Client and Distribution, Canada.

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining robust internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and apply accordingly.
  • In-depth understanding of multiple lines of insurance products and industry trends.
  • Disciplined to be able to prioritize and work in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to be able to quickly adapt and pivot.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, creativity and a desire for excellence.
  • Travel as required.

Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in alternative risk transfer, delegated authorities & programs.

The Canada base salary range for this position is CAD 150,000 to 190,250. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual's skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues' pay.
