Position Summary:
As a Broadcast Support Engineer, you will design, install, maintain, and operate broadcast systems at PGA Tour Studios. You will ensure the reliability and quality of audio/video transmission, troubleshoot technical issues, and support system deployments. This role also collaborates closely with production and engineering teams to optimize workflows and implement new broadcast technologies. This position is based in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
Facility Overview:
PGA Tour Studios is a state-of-the-art broadcast facility supporting live and recorded golf content for global distribution. The facility includes advanced studios, control rooms, production offices, commentary booths, and remote broadcast capabilities for on-location tournament coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and resolve system issues while meeting SLA targets
  • Design, deploy, and maintain broadcast and software systems
  • Install and commission broadcast equipment
  • Monitor system performance and production environments
  • Develop automation scripts and support disaster recovery processes
  • Create training documentation and train engineering staff
  • Ensure reliability and resilience of broadcast systems, including redundancy and failover strategies
  • Lead or contribute to technical projects and deployments
Key skills, experience and qualifications required for role:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Broadcast Engineer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of broadcast systems, signal flow, and transmission technologies
  • Experience with broadcast control systems (e.g., Magnum, VSM, Orbit, Cerebrum) preferred
  • Working knowledge of IP-based video transport (e.g., SMPTE-2110, PTP timing, multicast in broadcast environments)
  • Experience with virtualized or software-based systems in broadcast or media environments
  • Scripting or programming experience (Golang, Python, JavaScript, Bash) is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills
  • Associate or technical degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or equivalent experience
