Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total RewardsWhat You'll Be DoingAs a valuable part of our
Transportation team, a
Project Manager 2 will manage the planning, design, and delivery of bridge projects from concept through construction, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating with clients and internal teams. You'll also provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff, contribute to proposals and business development efforts, and help advance Tighe & Bond's bridge practice. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning, design, and delivery of bridge replacement, rehabilitation, and preservation projects in accordance with NHDOT standards and AASHTO LRFD
- Managing project scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC processes, and multidisciplinary coordination
- Serving as the primary point of contact for NHDOT, municipal clients, and other project stakeholders
- Overseeing and reviewing structural calculations, design reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Guiding project teams in load rating, NBIS inspections, and risk mitigation strategies
- Coordinating closely with roadway, geotechnical, and hydraulics disciplines.
- Ensuring compliance with New Hampshire environmental and permitting requirements
- Supporting proposal development, fee estimates, and client interviews
- Mentoring junior engineers and support professional development within the bridge structural group
What You'll Need - Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license - required (New Hampshire licensure or ability to obtain through reciprocity)
- 13+ years of experience in bridge design, project delivery, and client coordination
- Strong working knowledge of NHDOT bridge and structural standards, AASHTO LRFD and applicable permitting and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS, STAAD, LARSA) and CAD tools (e.g., MicroStation)
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, communicate clearly with clients, and manage multiple projects
Preferred Requirements- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with municipal bridge programs, small-span structures, and emergency repairs
- NBI inspection experience and/or familiarity with FHWA compliance procedures
- Active involvement in professional organizations such as ASCE, BSCES, or SEI.
