  • Oversee multi-discipline bridge and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices and disciplines for cohesive project delivery.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to staff and colleagues.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with budget and quality objectives.
  • Facilitate resource sharing and staffing coordination with geographic discipline leaders.

Overview

Bridge Department Manager with NJDOT/NJTA project design and management experience to join our team in New Jersey! Are you ready to join an exciting infrastructure team and contribute to our growth?

Our bridge experts partner with our clients to understand project objectives, while formulating solutions that result in successful outcomes that are safe, efficient, economical and sensitive to the environment. This highly skilled team of professionals offers a full range of bridge services from scoping, planning and preliminary engineering through final design, for small to large scale bridges.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage experience, leadership, and relationships to assist the group grow in NJDOT/NJTA and other agency work.
  • Bridge team leader for DOT and Agency type work.
  • Project and industry forecasting.
  • Network and represent the company at industry and professional business development, conferences and presentation opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage proposals for DOT and Agency type clients.
  • Ability to develop and build a network of subconsultants and teaming agreements.
  • Manage bridge and infrastructure multi-discipline projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other offices and in other disciplines to establish a cohesive team to deliver a quality project on time and under budget.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff and colleagues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the region to achieve established goals.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure that projects are delivered within budget, fulfills customer expectations for schedule and quality, and/or aligns with the company strategic objectives.
  • Billings and collections.
  • Work with geographic discipline leaders on resource sharing and staffing needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural Engineering is required.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership and managerial experience in the engineering industry with 8+ years of bridge engineering experience is required.
  • Prior NJDOT/NJTA experience is required.
  • New Jersey PE license is required (or through reciprocity).
  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of business development, prepare winning proposals, and the design, management and delivery of bridge and infrastructure projects for DOT and Agency clients, especially in NJ.
  • Meet the qualifications of NJDOT 'Team Leader' including experience with AASHTO/NJDOT Design Manuals, LFRD for Bridge Design, Seismic Analysis and NJDOT Capital Project Delivery Process.
  • Ability to be a well-rounded team member, collaborate with the transportation team, and be a key contributor to the vision of the group.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $154,600 to $200,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
