At DI, our Branch Operations Managers are given an opportunity to lead by example. As a Branch Operations Manager, you would be responsible for administrative, warehouse, and internal functions of your location. You will provide leadership to meet and optimize established levels of business performance objectives, service, productivity, and quality. The Branch Operations Manager, in collaboration with their manager, will work directly with the warehouse/fabrication management team to plan, direct and coordinate DI's operations. The Branch Operations Manager will be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies. This role is key to the branch to ensure a high employee morale while servicing customer at economical cost while supporting the branch sales plan for growth and margin improvement.

Job Functions
  • Supervise supplier and return material authorizations, including customer credit and supplier claim for special order or defective product forms pending return of material
  • Assist in managing branch assets including inventory, receivables, and payables to maximize bottom line performance, reduce carrying costs, and ensuring exemplary service to customers
  • Utilize LEAN methodologies to develop and implement action plans to correct problem areas and optimize established levels of business performance objectives, service, productivity, and quality
  • Implement and ensure consistent compliance with standard operating procedures, policies, internal audit controls, controls, and business management quality system requirements
  • Analyze customer feedback and develop methods to improve service quality using metrics
  • Contribute to preparation of branch annual budget, including forecast of capital expenditures
  • Analyze reports to identify potential operational deficiencies and take corrective actions
  • Perform required system utilities, security and administrative controls used in daily activities
  • Implement branch physical security standards by conducting facility and asset inspections and taking corrective actions to support security controls
  • Conduct annual transportation cost analyses to ensure efficiency
  • Monitor and approve branch expense and stock documentation
  • Oversee use and maintenance of petty cash fund
  • Conduct daily branch management meetings to communicate information to all associates
  • Manage warehouse operations so that productivity and budgetary goals are consistently met
  • Work closely with sales and fabrication teams to develop and maintain a 'customer first, whatever it takes' culture
  • Partner with fabrication and purchasing departments to ensure accurate, on-time and in full receipt of materials in support of overall order fulfilment goals
  • Determine equipment availability and capabilities to efficiently schedule, coordinate, and move orders through the facility to meet customer expectations
  • Organize and manage branch workflow to satisfy production requirements in a cost-efficient manner
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure proper employment levels through selecting, interviewing, and hiring of personnel
  • Build and initiate plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years' proven work experience in a management or similar role in a warehouse/distribution center environment, or a minimum 15 years' experience working in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
  • Experience with product scheduling and shipping, logistics and fleet management, and customer service required
  • Must have experience with ERP's, WMS, distribution/shipping software (strong preference for SXe/ TWL experience)
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation)
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as required to meet Customer deadlines
  • Experience with full Microsoft Office Suite
  • Physical Requirements


General office environment and occasional exposure to non-climate controlled warehouse. Requires standing, sitting, driving, use hands, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, read, talk and hear; the employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Compensation Range

$75,000.00 - $150,000.00
The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
