Full Job Description
WECU is seeking a Branch Manager II to join our Ferndale branch located in Ferndale, WA. The Branch Manager II leads a medium or large branch environment with up to two Assistant Branch Managers who oversee staff teams. This role is focused primarily on leadership, coaching, and strategic branch stewardship, with limited individual contributor responsibilities. The Branch Manager II sets the vision for the branch, leads through change, and develops leaders to drive performance, engagement, and consistency. With a strong people-centered approach and an operational mindset, this role ensures the branch delivers exceptional member experiences, maintains compliance and risk standards, and builds strong community presence. This position is ideal for a seasoned leader who excels at leading leaders and sustaining high performance at scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leadership and supervision of both direct and indirect financial center team members to achieve all key performance indicators.
  • Leads performance management activities, directing the development of action plans and holding staff accountable to individual and team goals; actively participates in observations and coaches staff to meet the expectations of their role and deliver the highest quality of member service possible.
  • Encourages and inspires team unity, commitment, and trust, creating a positive, engaged team who strives to do their best every day.
  • Monitors and updates operating processes for efficient operation of the branch.
  • Accountable for non-interest expense management within annual budget.
  • Actively participates in strategic business planning, goal setting and budget process. Mindful of strategic initiatives when making decisions, possesses the knowledge and capability to lead and support areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinates within and across departmental boundaries to build relationships and achieve production and service goals.
  • Facilitates consistent communication, as well as department meetings, to disseminate vision, pertinent information and discuss operations methods and opportunities.
  • Ensure that the facility is properly maintained, all equipment works properly and appearance meets WECU standards.
  • May serve as Interim Director, District Manager in their absence or unforeseen vacancy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and may also assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.
  • Engage members to understand their financial needs, recommend and bundle appropriate WECU products, and build long term relationships by delivering value, meeting sales goals, and maintaining strong product knowledge.
  • Deliver exceptional member service by providing clear, personalized financial guidance and effectively resolving concerns - making service decisions and adjustments as needed to ensure a positive experience, strong loyalty, and continued trust in WECU.
  • Always understand and comply with branch security procedures.
  • Exercises authority level and decision-making skills to employ sound judgment, maintaining knowledge of and adhering to all accuracy standards described in internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Follow WECU's policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and may also assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, eight or more years' related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of higher education and experience.
  • Relevant experience in a credit union or other financial institution preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Skilled in software used in credit union such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and DNA.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
  • Licensed Notary Public or able to acquire within six months in role.
  • STAMP certified representative or able to acquire within six months in role.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is from $109,490.73 to $119,444.44 per year.
