Job Description
Position Summary: The Branch Manager I is responsible for the safe, efficient, and financially successful operation of an assigned branch, service area, or group of customer locations. This position provides field leadership, manages employees and resources, maintains customer relationships, and supports company safety, quality, productivity, and financial goals.
The Branch Manager I works closely with division leadership, other Branch Managers, Human Resources, Safety, DOT, and administrative personnel to ensure consistent operations and compliance with company policies and applicable requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Promote safety, quality, productivity, professionalism, accountability, and customer service as core company values.
- Direct and coordinate branch and field operations within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence at customer locations, jobsites, and company facilities.
- Implement company policies, procedures, goals, budgets, operating plans, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure scheduled, emergency, after-hours, and unplanned work is adequately staffed and properly equipped.
- Coordinate employees, vehicles, tools, and equipment to meet operational and customer needs.
- Work with other company locations to share personnel and equipment resources when necessary.
- Monitor productivity, staffing, equipment utilization, service quality, expenses, and branch performance.
- Ensure company vehicles, equipment, tools, and accessories are properly operated, inspected, maintained, and cared for.
- Work with the DOT Manager and other departments to ensure required registrations, certifications, inspections, permits, and placards are current.
- Maintain regular communication with customers and promptly address service, quality, staffing, scheduling, or performance concerns.
- Develop and maintain professional customer relationships and present practical solutions to customer needs.
- Work with administrative personnel to ensure work tickets, time records, billing documentation, and related information are accurate and submitted on time.
- Assist with the development and management of branch budgets, forecasts, and operating plans.
- Monitor revenue, labor, overtime, expenses, productivity, and profitability.
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Site Managers, supervisors, and other assigned employees.
- Communicate performance expectations, job duties, operational goals, and standards of conduct.
- Address employee performance, attendance, conduct, and policy concerns in coordination with Human Resources and division leadership.
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Report significant safety, operational, employee-relations, customer, or financial concerns to the appropriate company representative.
- Travel to customer locations, jobsites, company facilities, meetings, and other locations as required.
- Work the schedule necessary to meet branch and customer needs, including nights, weekends, emergencies, shutdowns, or extended shifts.
- Maintain reliable and regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and enforce a safety-first approach in all operations.
- Comply with and enforce company safety policies, standard operating procedures, customer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Participate in required safety meetings, inspections, investigations, audits, and training.
- Ensure employees receive required safety, equipment, regulatory, and job-specific training.
- Observe field activities and promptly correct unsafe behaviors, conditions, or practices.
- Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment.
- Support the safe operation of vehicles, machinery, tools, and industrial equipment.
- Report and assist with the investigation of injuries, incidents, property damage, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Support compliance with applicable OSHA, DOT, customer, and company requirements.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of two years of supervisory, operational leadership, or related industrial experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial services, environmental services, industrial cleaning, transportation, construction, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
Licenses and Other Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must successfully complete any job-related background screening, motor vehicle record review, drug or alcohol testing, or other screening required by company policy, customer requirements, or applicable law.
- Must complete required company, customer, safety, equipment, and regulatory training.
- Must obtain and maintain required customer-site credentials, certifications, or access authorizations.
- Must be available to travel as required.
- Expected working hours are generally approximately 55 hours per week; however, hours may vary based on customer and operational needs.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, reach, and move throughout industrial facilities and jobsites. The employee must be able to walk extended distances, climb stairs or equipment access points, use the hands and fingers for substantial movements, and wear required personal protective equipment.
Work may be performed in office, field, industrial, customer-site, and outdoor environments. Conditions may include extreme temperatures, rain, humidity, noise, vibration, dust, fumes, odors, hazardous materials, moving equipment, uneven surfaces, extended driving, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.
