Job DescriptionPosition Purpose: The Branch Controller at Veolia North America, LLC (Hazardous Waste) serves as a strategic financial leader who works hand in hand with the operations teams they support. We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and naturally curious professional who acts as a strategic business partner, is savvy with financial analysis, and is proactive in finding cost savings.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated mentor committed to the training and development of their team. You must be a driver of efficiency, constantly looking for ways to adopt new technologies to streamline workflows. Furthermore, this role requires a leader capable of managing organizational restructuring and change management initiatives while providing the strategic insight necessary for critical operational decisions.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities: - Financial Oversight & Revenue Recognition: Lead all financial reporting activities, with a specific focus on Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition for complex projects.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement operational efficiencies to improve accuracy and speed in financial closing and reporting cycles.
- Technology Adoption: Embrace and implement new financial technologies and digital tools to enhance data transparency and reporting capabilities.
- Team Development: Provide active mentorship and training to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Strategic Leadership: Support executive leadership by providing data-driven insights for strategic decision-making and leading change management efforts during organizational transitions.
- Compliance & Audit: Manage internal and external audit processes and ensure strict adherence to all regulatory and company financial standards.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead FP&A activities by developing accurate annual budgets and rolling forecasts, leveraging historical trends, future business metrics, and relevant economic indicators to drive business performance.
QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with a proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Experience in the waste management, environmental services, or a related industrial sector is preferred.
- Proficiency in advanced financial software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training: - CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly preferred.
