DutiesHelp
The successful candidate will perform the full range of Branch Chief duties.
Such duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsibilities include the operation and management of the NRC's financial systems to include the core financial system, the Financial Accounting and Integrated Management Information System (FAIMIS), HCM Cloud for Time and Labor (HCM), the Budget Formulation System (BFS), the Cost Activity Code System (CACS) including the participation and coordination with all other financial systems development to ensure functional compatibility and consistency with the core financial system's capability and required performance.
- Responsible for developing and managing the financial systems' budgets and ensures adequate funding is available for system operations and enhancements. They oversee the preparation of reports to OMB and other oversight agencies concerning financial systems resources and the management of contracts and interagency agreements providing systems support and cross-servicing, ensuring FITARA compliance.
- The incumbent will have a thorough understanding of and experience with core financial system modernizations or enhancements and experience conducting studies of financial systems to evaluate ways to improve system performance and streamline processes through automation.
- The incumbent will have demonstrated experience developing and presenting on business solutions or financial positions to the CFO and Commission with a demonstrated ability to communicate complex information effectively and concisely.

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Candidates must also have specialized experience performing financial transactions in the agency core financial system (FAIMIS), including recording accounting transactions; reconciling accounts; preparing reports; analyzing internal controls; and reviewing, analyzing and resolving a variety of issues. Candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level or equivalent by the closing date or no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of the vacancy announcement and before placement in the position.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- In-depth knowledge and experience with project management concepts and principles.
- Knowledge of and experience with Federal and NRC financial management policies and processes.
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing NRC automated financial systems and associated software.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in handling multiple assignments with competing priorities, often under considerable pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate information, ideas, and advice in a clear, concise, and logical manner, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, NRC management in Headquarters or Regions, the Commission, members of the public, representatives of professional groups or other Federal or State agencies.
