How you will do it:

We are looking for skilled HVAC and Boiler Mechanics who have practical work experience in their trade, including HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting, boiler systems, and/or mechanical equipment service.

Mechanics must have practical working experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment, including heating, cooling, steam, hot water, and boiler systems. Candidates may be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work shall include commercial HVACR and boiler service.

Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair and maintenance of centrifugal chillers, steam turbines, open-drive screw chillers, commercial boilers, burners, steam systems, hot water systems, hydronic systems, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.

Perform maintenance, repair, replacement, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting services on commercial heating, cooling, and boiler systems.

Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve HVAC and boiler-related service issues. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are operating efficiently, including identifying HVAC and boiler system upgrade opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for:

Required
  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for HVAC and boiler system troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business.
  • Minimum of three (3) years commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC and boiler industry. This includes rooftop units, pumps, fans, cooling towers, boilers, burners, hydronic heating systems, steam systems, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
  • Experience performing maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial HVAC and boiler systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting steam boilers, hot water boilers, burners, boiler controls, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, etc., on pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Able to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivetrains and rotating mechanical equipment.
  • Travel may be required (10% to 20%) to support Branch customer activities, troubleshooting, installation, boiler startups, and repairs.
  • You will be required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.

  • Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI's Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self-starter with a passion and desire to learn and apply on the job.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.
  • Universal EPA refrigerant license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.

Preferred
  • Experience with commercial and industrial boiler systems, including steam and hot water boilers.
  • Experience servicing burners, combustion controls, boiler safety devices, steam distribution systems, condensate return systems, and hydronic heating systems.
  • Boiler Operator License, Stationary Engineer License, or equivalent boiler certification preferred.
  • Experience with boiler commissioning, combustion analysis, and boiler efficiency optimization.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, education, or large commercial facilities with HVAC and boiler equipment.


Pay Range: $43.70 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
