BODY SHOP SUPERVISOR

The Body Shop Supervisor is responsible for leading daily body shop operations, ensuring vehicle repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to customer and quality standards. This role provides leadership technicians, manages production schedules, supports employee development, and drives continuous improvement to meet operational goals and customer expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Supervise daily body shop operations, staffing, and production schedules to meet repair and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor repair quality, productivity, and progress while ensuring repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements.
  • Review repair estimates, conduct quality audits, and coordinate with operations, quality, and other departments to maintain efficient vehicle flow.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates on repair status and project progress.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and company standards.
  • Maintain body shop facilities, equipment, and tools to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Lead employee training, coaching, performance development, and certification tracking.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support hiring efforts, special projects, customer initiatives, and other operational priorities as needed.

Job Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 3+ years of frontline supervisory experience, preferably in automotive, collision repair, vehicle processing, manufacturing, or a related environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing production priorities and leading teams in a fast-paced operation.
  • Working knowledge of automotive repair processes, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including weekends or extended hours as needed.

EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, ISO, or similar programs.
  • Knowledge of waterborne paint technology, steel and aluminum panel repair, and automotive body repair techniques.
  • ASE, I-CAR, OEM, or other industry certifications.
