Program Overview:

This position will be situated with the Metals & Mining team in Toronto.

Co-op Analysts will participate in a one-week training and orientation program and are assigned to the Metals & Mining specific Investment Banking industry group during the program. In addition to this on-the-job experience, the program includes the opportunity to network across various business groups, learn about the culture of BMO Capital Markets, participate in training and learning seminars, and obtain career guidance from dedicated mentors.

Responsibilities:

As an Investment Banking Co-op Analyst on the Metals & Mining team at BMO Capital Markets, you will gain valuable exposure to a wide number of industries and work with a variety of financial products, including public and private debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory. Responsibilities can include:

  • Running valuation analyses;
  • Performing complex financial modeling;
  • Conducting industry and company research and analysis;
  • Developing client presentations;
  • Writing internal and external marketing memoranda;
  • Performing other tasks supporting client relationships and business development.

This position is ideally suited to talented, highly motivated individuals who seek to build a solid, comprehensive foundation in the basic skills of investment banking.

Qualifications:

We are looking for highly motivated, mature individuals with:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, graduating in Spring 2028.
  • Proven track record of excellent academic standing, extra curricular participation and demonstrated interest in finance.
  • Excellent analytical skills in business, financial and credit analysis areas
  • Strong interpersonal skills used within a demanding team environment
  • Ability to attentively review, assess and provide detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner
  • Excellent capacity to independently function as part of a team through self-motivation
  • Strong work ethic
  • A high level of integrity
  • Preference will be given to those students with a concentration in finance, accounting, economics, engineering and math (statistics)
  • Demonstrated interest in the Metals & Mining Industry
