The Opportunity

Functions as a technology leader, department manager or administrative leader. Influences engineering strategy and serves as key business advisor with major impact on the organization. Responsible for execution of assigned projects. May also establish tactical direction with regard to policy and procedure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively provides guidance and direction. Typically has ownership in maintaining, updating, and developing engineering standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects or disciplines. Establishes related processes, and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
  • Supports and may lead continuous improvement, change management and risk management efforts.
  • Accountable for managing engineering design-related aspects of highly complex project(s) including engineering schedule and budget performance, quality of engineering solutions and deliverables, and coordination of design, procurement, and construction.
  • Orchestrates all technical aspects of highly complex projects and makes project engineering execution decisions within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, guides and contract commitments.
  • Establishes work plan to be applied to a given project.
  • May also serve as a department manager with operational oversight.
  • Actively coordinates with all internal/external team members on highly complex projects.
  • Responsible for coordinating project schedules for multiple disciplines.
  • Responsible for determining identification of key client interests and drivers on projects.
  • Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on complex projects.
  • May offer other services to the client. Typically provides support to business development or pursuit activities.
  • Serves as a technology leader or discipline chief engineer. Recognized as a Company/industry expert within a discipline or specialty.
  • May develop innovative solutions critical to company success.
  • As a discipline chief engineer, is accountable for the definition of overall processes, lessons learned, and resolution of project engineering technical issues.
  • Has authority to approve engineering standards and guides, and authority over technical aspects of projects and proposals, within the bounds set by applicable policies, standards, and contractual commitments.
  • Accountable for all engineering disciplines within the organization.
  • Provides thought leadership and set policies impacting all projects.
  • Identifies technical skill gaps and mitigation plans.
  • Determines technical training content.
  • Drives knowledge management and knowledge transfer approach. Influences the technical engineering culture throughout the organization.
  • As a manager, provides direction to a medium/large size and/or complex group.
  • Typically oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, compensation management, succession planning, disciplinary actions and employee relations, and workforce planning.
  • Strongly influences and implements resource management strategy.
  • Manages engineering resources and applicable technical requirements for medium/large size and/or complex group.
  • Common responsibilities include staffing, recruiting, budgets, tools and/or processes.
  • Resolves resource conflicts and identifies training needs.
  • Specific responsibilities may vary by office or region, but typically include large offices or multiple offices within a country; may have some responsibility for other countries; involves one or more similar lines of business or related disciplines.


Management Responsibilities

Supervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in Engineering work. Minimum of 15 years related work experience. Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.

Certifications

In accordance with local law, the following Annual compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $181,687.00 - $303,424.00
