Boulder Community Health is seeking a Biomed Technician II, a key and active member of the Technology Management program to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the hospital and all associated facilities and clinics. The Biomed Technician independently performs skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices.

Qualifications:
• Associates degree preferred from an accredited institution in electronics (preferably biomedical) or other related field. A combination of education and related experience may substitute for the degree. Equivalent biomedical military training acceptable
• Certified BMET (Biomedical equipment technician) preferred.
• Documented completion of factory training on a variety of basic and complex pieces of Biomedical equipment.
• Valid Colorado driver's license required.
• Three to seven years of progressively complex (troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, design and modification) hospital-based biomedical equipment technician (BMET) experience required.
• Previous electronic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting experience required.
• Basic knowledge of networking required.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzes troubleshoots, and repairs diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques.
• Installs, calibrates, and tests new medical electronic devices and / or systems.
• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on medical electronic devices in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, applicable codes, standards, and department policy
• Conducts scheduled and unscheduled electrical and functional safety inspections on medical devices.
• Helps to maintain an appropriate inventory of parts and stand-by equipment to ensure minimum disruption of patient care.
• Assists in training of all hospital staff in the safe use of biomedical equipment; all training shall be documented.
• Acts as a resource on more complex technical biomedical equipment issues and mentors Biomedical Equipment Technician 1's and Biomedical Assistants to help them grow in ability, responsibility, and experience.
