Overview

Please note that this position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid.

 

Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Bioinformatician to provide statistical support for the Office of the Director (OD).

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilize research methodology and data collection tools to ensure appropriate data is gathered.
  • Design and maintain databases for management, including SAS, SUDAAN, Access, and Excel.
  • Conduct data analyses including descriptive statistics, factor analyses, and various regression models.
  • Extract data from sources including NHSN for analysis.
  • Prepare preliminary interpretations of analyses for scientific and public audiences, project teams, and/or management.
  • Prepare reports based on analytical results, supporting manuscript development.
  • Perform statistical analysis of complex surveillance using large datasets, including merging techniques and established statistical methodologies.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree plus 3–5 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.

 

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
