The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a BIM Professional to join our team as a member of our growing Engineering and Design division in Spokane, WA. We are seeking a talented Revit Specialist to provide BIM documentation and support for Structural projects. This role requires translating ideas into coordinated drawings, managing Revit families and collaborating with project leaders.

Project Coordination
  • Coordinates efficiently and effectively with clients, engineers, project managers, and BIM Professionals to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks.
  • Responds to deadlines received by internal and external clients.
  • Establishes a clear scope of work, hours budget, and deliverables each time an assignment is received.
  • Works with engineers, project managers, and other personnel to create project documents.
  • Coordinates and performs drafting project duties and responsibilities
  • Coordinates closely with engineers and BIM team members to communicate technical information and resolve interdisciplinary modeling conflicts.
  • Works independently and collaboratively to meet multiple deadlines with accuracy.
  • Develops positive working relationships with craft foremen and other field personnel assigned to projects.

Project Development / Design
  • Works with peers to further develop modeling and drafting skills while gaining a deeper understanding of building systems.
  • Organizes the BIM environment and maintains all related documents.
  • Promotes best practices to improve production efficiency in Revit.
  • Assists in developing complex models and supporting project coordination efforts.
  • Supports departmental initiatives and contributes to a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Continues to grow technical skills through training and increased responsibility.

Modeling
  • Under direct supervision, provides 3D content in Revit based on markups provided.
  • Performs 2D and 3D drafting in Revit.
  • Updates backgrounds and models per project schedule.
  • Uses AutoCAD and Revit to perform modeling.
  • Revit modeling using company standards.
  • Utilizes Bluebeam for sessions, markups, projects, and stamps.
  • Maintains and enforces current BIM modeling standards.
  • Produces detailed Revit models and drawing sets aligned with project standards.
  • Ability to manage CAD and Revit plans and details across multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.

What You Need to Succeed
  • (4) Four years of experience in BIM or in the construction industry and One (1) year of experience in 3D/BIM modeling OR the equivalent in a four-year engineering school.
  • Working knowledge of Revit, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD; Tekla and/or Advanced Steel preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and print reading.
  • Ability to interpret engineering markups, calculations, and sketches.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

The pay range for this position is $33.58 - $46.64 per hour, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is considered non-exempt and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
