Full Job Description
Come build something with Shepley Bulfinch as a BIM Manager!

Bring your passion for technology, collaboration, and design excellence to one of the nation's leading architecture firms! We are seeking an experienced BIM Manager to lead and evolve our Building Information Modeling practices across the firm. This role sits at the intersection of technology strategy and architectural practice, requiring both deep technical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills. You will shape how our teams work, building workflows, mentoring staff, and enhancing standards, while keeping Shepley Bulfinch at the forefront of the industry. We are open to candidates located anywhere in the continental United States, with a preference for individuals who are regionally proximate to one of our studio locations to support collaboration, team engagement, and occasional in-person activities.

How do you know if this role is right for you?

This role may be right for you if you are a strategic thinker who stays ahead of industry trends and can translate that knowledge into practical tools and workflows that improve how our teams work every day. You are equally comfortable presenting at a conference, leading a training session, or diving into a problematic Revit model. You build trust with project teams and external partners alike, and you take pride in creating consistent, appropriate, well-documented BIM guidelines that make it easier for everyone to do their best work. You thrive when connecting people, whether that means networking with peers across the industry, collaborating with vendors, or making sure that a model lead has the answers they need.

Responsibilities:
  • Stay current with industry trends and advise on BIM-related tools, workflows, and standards across the firm
  • Lead the rollout of new BIM tools and workflows, identifying opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, and project delivery
  • Help the firm responsibly evaluate and integrate AI into practice where it can add meaningful value
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and maintain a network of peers to draw on for advice and best practices
  • Develop and deliver educational content; meet regularly with project staff to answer questions and identify learning opportunities
  • Monitor model health across projects, ensure BIM Execution Plans are in place, and advise teams on model performance
  • Support project teams in coordination challenges with partners and contractors, and champion consistent BIM practices firm-wide
  • Set, review, and recommend BIM standards; maintain documentation, standard content libraries, and the Revit template
  • Coordinate with BIM vendors and consultants, tracking deliverables and evaluating their level of support

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field is required with 7+ years of experience
  • Extensive experience with Revit and BIM workflows in an architecture or engineering practice
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate technical standards and documentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage staff at all levels
  • Experience with or interest in process automation and emerging AEC technologies
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and represent the firm at industry events

Shepley Bulfinch offers competitive benefits and compensation, including health and dental insurance, a 401(k) and profit-sharing plan, and flexible work schedules, as well as a range of professional growth and development opportunities.
