PGH Wong is looking for a BIM Manager with a high level of experience in design for transportation and/or infrastructure projects. In this position, you will be responsible for leading and managing designers in the execution and maintenance of BIM, while building a team to work across various disciplines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop BIM capabilities within the team. Including preparing a team plan and recruiting.
- Production and coordination of infrastructure 3D models and objects covering transit station architecture, mechanical, electrical, and civil design.
- Design of pavement sections, and construction details.
- Preparation of drawings showing interfacing of different systems, underground utilities, work phasing, etc.
- Develop BIM Execution Plans for different projects in line with the scope and Level of Design required
- Develop BIM Plans for operative assets and ensure a lifecycle history for future management and operational asset value.
- Working collaboratively in a team environment to resolve design/drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives
- Verifying accuracy and completeness of all deliverable BIM or CAD products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
- Assisting in administration, training others on BIM or CAD systems and company standards
- Identifying the needs and professional development for BIM or CAD operators to ensure skills match project needs
- Leadership skills are needed to supervise and assist the technical work of less experienced designers who share in the design effort.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years experience in BIM/design, preferably in transportation projects. Other infrastructure experience will be considered.
- The ability and skill level to organize, delegate, and oversee a team of designers and draftsmen to complete a project from start to finish.
- Understand the scope and limits of responsibility between various engineering disciplines and project support groups.
- An advanced understanding of BIM.
- Revit experience required
- MicroStation InRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
- Well-versed in Data Management Systems: Bentley ProjectWise, MS SharePoint, Autodesk BIM360
- Ideally, the candidate will have worked within a large and/or multi-disciplinary design engineering project thus appreciating the complexities involved.
- Capable of quickly and accurately solving complex CAD problems.
- Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS): analyzing topographic data, the transforming of coordinates, importing topographic models, etc.
- Good reporting skills to a range of colleagues and senior managers.
- Good level and style of communication is an essential part of the role as is an organized work manner.
