Job Title: BIM Lead

Department: Electrical

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Director of Electrical Operations

Salary: Commensurate with experience & Benefits

The BIM Lead - Electrical supports electrical projects by producing information models. The BIM Lead will drive the development and coordination of BIM designs and models for electrical systems and construction projects. Ensure quality, accuracy, constructability, and fabrication readiness - collaborating with project managers, engineers, and field staff across design-build and construction workflows from preconstruction through project closeout.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Translate 2D drawings and specifications into a complete 3D/4D/5D model for projects across the company for efficiency and productivity gains. Extracts quantities and identifies clash detection and resolution. Develop accurate construction drawings, produce prefab and installation documents, and produce as-builts. Ensures compliance with standards, codes, and specifications and checks for quality and accuracy of models.
  • Coordinates and manages multiple BIM projects and workflows as needed.
  • Responsible for company wide BIM standards, implementation, and enforcement.
  • Works closely with and supports estimating, project management, operations, and fabrication teams to design and implement CAD and BIM models.
  • Lead and participate in meetings to train, identify and promote modeling tools across the company. Drive the implementation of digital information plans and strategies.
  • Manage supporting software licenses and hardware that provide design tools.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience using and supporting the following applications: Revit, Revizto, Navisworks, and Evolve MEP.
  • 5+ years BIM design and coordination in 3D, 4D, and 5D modeling.
  • Associates Degree/Certifications in CAD/3D drafting a plus.
  • Electrical/Construction industry experienced required.
  • Strong sense of urgency with resolving production problems thereby meeting user expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • A motivated team player to work collaboratively as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to train and present technical data in a logical concise manner.
