Your Opportunity

The BIM Coordinator will assist the Stantec Technology Team push towards automation of BIM in production design processes. Provide support and mentoring to BIM procedures, workflows and best practices for modeling. The BIM Coordinator must proactively coordinate across ICT, Security, Audio Visual, and Health Care Technology disciplines to help ensure the BIM model and subsequent drawings/deliverables are consistent and fully coordinated. The Technology BIM Coordinator will also work with our MEP/FP and Architect teams, as well as external client BIM teams to send, receive, update, and coordinate

The BIM Coordinator is responsible for coaching and guiding involved engineers with the implementation and application of BIM. Offer cross-team support for BIM software.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Standards- Ensures compliance with Stantec drafting and BIM standards throughout projects.
  • Checks the different aspects of models on consistency.
  • Training & Education- Evangelize, educate and support primary BIM applications.
  • Document procedures, workflows and best practices for data post-processing and modeling.
  • Process Improvement- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.
  • R&D- Help with pilot testing of new BIM applications and add-ins.
  • Troubleshooting- Perform model audits and checks ensuring compliance with the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Provide troubleshooting, assistance and mentoring for Revit users.
  • Coordination & Collaboration- Conduct BIM coordination meetings with internal team and external project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the design team and other departments to identify areas of improvement and communicate procedural changes.
  • Maintain good communication with engineers to assure timely and efficient completion of jobs, proper communication of issues, and proper documentation for each project.
  • Project Setup & Delivery- Setup projects for the team ensures compliance with Stantec delivery and BIM standards throughout all projects.
  • Makes proposals for any model adjustments, discusses and consults with the relevant members of the team.
  • Assist project teams with BIM project execution planning at project kickoff and project milestones.
  • Provide final check of all projects for quality assurance.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office applications.
  • General level of knowledge of BIM practices, standards, workflows and techniques including modeling, collaboration, standards-checking, and clash detection tools.
  • Basic understanding of Technology disciplines (ICT, SEC, AV) processes is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of AEC industry standards.
  • Experience with a BIM execution plan and providing a detailed modeling plan for each phase of design.
  • A clear understanding of a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality.
  • Ability to define problems, evaluate options and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Coordination and management of BIM models within a multi-person design team.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational and time management skills regarding projects, reports and other commitments; completes assignments in a quality and timely fashion; able to manage multiple priorities concurrently; is punctual and dependable.
  • Possess experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical, problem resolution, and trouble shooting skills.
  • Possess very strong organizational skills with attention given to detail and accuracy.
  • Possess a personal sense of urgency and initiative and the ability to drive tasks to completion.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills and can confidently interact with clients, vendors and co-workers.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in AEC related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of BIM production experience in Architecture/Engineering (required).
  • Autodesk Revit Certified Professional (preferred).
  • CSI Construction Document Technologist Certified (preferred).

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ, VA Areas-$74,300.00 - $107,700.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
