Job Description:

The Retail Wealth Enablement, Operations department plays a pivotal role in our organization's strategic expansion into a new Investment Dealer. Our dedicated team, under the leadership of the AVP, Operations, Retail Wealth Enablement, is responsible for not only initiating and nurturing the wealth management segment but also ensuring operational excellence with a keen focus on first time-right process design. We place a strong emphasis on partner servicing, aligning with internal and external stakeholders, and driving process optimization to create efficient, cost-effective operations that meet both current and future scalability requirements. Our commitment to delivering high-quality wealth solutions, building strong relationships, and driving innovation within the department, all with a cost-conscious approach, is central to our mission of launching a market competitive Investment dealer.

What will you do:
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of activities, from planning and development to the practical execution of wealth management solutions, including the following:
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on enterprise-level initiatives related to wealth management and operations.
  • Process Development: Develop dealer processes and implement workflows to ensure the delivery of excellent service to advisors and their clients.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead the pursuit of operational excellence within the wealth business, ensuring seamless and efficient operations through best-in-class processes.
  • Partner Servicing: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to create a sustainable wealth management business.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders (ie: advisors, compliance, product, management) and external partners (ie: carrying broker, 3rd party vendors, manufacturers).
  • Ongoing Support: Lead and/or support various projects related to the establishment and further enhancement of the dealer platform.
  • Run the Business: Play a lead role in operational processing and day to day requirements to run the business, including transaction processing, reconciliation, fees, account management, and other operational activities.
  • Special Projects as requested.


What do you need to succeed:
  • Requires over 5 years or more of wealth operations experience
  • Organizational awareness and proven success in delivery.
  • Strong strategic vision with proven leadership and relationship management experience.
  • University Degree Required, continuing education preferred (CFA, CSC)
  • Proven practice and understanding of the Sun Life Framework and Strategic Goals
  • Strong Judgment with excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills including facilitation English (United States) & Accessibility. Good to go ere to search.
  • Attention to detail with an ability to see the "big picture" and to articulate essential facts.
  • Experience leading teams of analysts & Subject Matter Experts on large and complex technology projects
  • Project Management and Process Improvement skills with ability to accelerate project deliverables, influence other teams, navigate and prioritize time and scope
  • Experience implementing technology including change management, interacting with Business Architecture
  • Strong organizational and/or industry knowledge with a proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, complex, and often ambiguous environment
  • A relationship builder who can make things happen with positive influence
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate for an executive level audience
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to guide others to a desired conclusion and can hold them accountable
  • Understanding of Wealth Products and Wealth Operations an asset
  • Ability to develop, communicate and deliver on business strategy
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
