We're searching for the next generation of innovative minds who want to shape the world and live to build. CMAC is looking for a Bilingual Safety Superintendent in our DC Metro region. This role will ensure safe working conditions and proper application of safety policies at the job site.

What You Will Do:

As the Bilingual Safety Superintendent, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviews and inspects working practices on assigned project sites to ensure safe conditions.
  • Coordinates with the Safety Director and Project Superintendents to ensure safe work conditions and compliance with the company safety program.
  • Responds to project related safety concerns raised on the project site.
  • Conducts safety orientations and periodic training for new employees.
  • Investigates injuries and safety related incidents that occur within CMAC's workforce.
  • Promotes company safety culture to the workforce, partners, and clientele.
  • Develops site specific safety plans and material to support project teams and client requests.
  • Participates in the corporate safety committee and other safety related events.
  • Advises project teams on construction health and safety standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Completes assigned and required training for this role.

Work Environment: The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site, and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and high visibility clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Expected Hours of Work: This position regularly requires flexibility in adapting to deadlines, changing schedules, priorities and unpredictable events. Occasional unscheduled overtime, night shift and weekend support are required.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, tolerate heights, able to talk and hear others speaking, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and to operate a computer keyboard and phone while maintaining visual acuity. The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and 20 pounds constantly. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel: Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives. Majority of travel done during work hours; overnight stays may be required.

What You Will Bring to the Team

Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Construction Safety or related job field.
  • OSHA 510 & OSHA 30 certifications
  • Current 1st Aid & CPR certifications
  • -or- Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.


Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Safety, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related job field.

  • Working knowledge of construction safety and health standards.
  • Maintaining stable performance under pressure or opposition. Handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization.
  • Actively identifying new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities; using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job and learning through their application.
  • Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, trade practices.
  • Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
