Job Description

The BilingualDeployment Specialist I (French and English) installs select Medication Management Solution products ensuring successful solution deployment and customer success through demonstration of clinical and technical proficiency and The BD WAY: who we are, what we stand for, and the focus on excellence and accountability that we're all expected to demonstrate every day, no matter what our role is at the company. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish collaborative working relationships with cross-functional project teams which include multiple disciplines from within Solution Deployment and customer teams. This role will work independently to lead projects of all complexity, size and scope. Projects typically range in scope from installing a single product or multi-product expansions in customer facilities.

The Deployment Specialist I may be called to represent Solution Deployment during continuous improvement and new product/solution readiness to provide input and assess impact and change to the implementation organization.

This field-based position must be located in Ontario, Quebec or New Brunswick, and must be able to travel 80% or up to 100%, as required by business needs.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a past clean driving record (full G license) for a minimum of 3 years, as well as meet BD's auto safety standards.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Complete deployment specialist training plans and demonstrate competency for the installation and support for BD Solution hardware and software
  • Install specified equipment at customer sites, including tasks such as: Build-set up hardware/software, Training customer stakeholders on our solutions, and Go Live activities
  • Adherence to BD Medication Solutions product implementation methodologies and tools.
  • Provide problem solving, troubleshooting and system consultation as needed for client
  • Manage project escalations for favorable outcomes.
  • Timely completion of internal company and project documentation.
  • Execute additional tasks assigned.


Education and Experience required:

  • College diploma, or DEP, AEC, or DEC, in mechanical engineering, industrial mechanics, automation, or other technical field.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a similar position, including automation hardware and software installation and/or implementation; pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant experience may be considered.


Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Must have good understanding and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote).
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, including the ability to communicate effectively, manage interpersonal relationships, and adapt to internal stakeholders, and customer-facing environments.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, manage ambiguity and demonstrate resilience
  • Ability to work well in a team setting
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner
  • Be a dependable contributor with focus on project timelines
  • Basic knowledge of network communication and connectivity concepts.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment with hands-on technical involvement and exposure to computerized system applications.
  • Experience with dispensing software technologies is a plus.
  • Exposure to clinical software applications, including BD Medication Solutions Dispensing products.
  • Project Management experience supporting small to medium projects.
  • Experience/knowledge of EMR related systems, HIS (Hospital Information Systems) and PIS (Pharmacy Information Systems), with an understanding of pharmacy and nursing workflows preferred.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
  • This position involves pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and lifting above head.
  • Vendor Credentialing: Depending on your role at BD, you may be required to undergo further background checks and/or provide vaccination information and/or undergo tuberculosis screening to ensure compliance with certain of our customers' vendor credentialing programs. You acknowledge that compliance with vendor credentialing may be an essential requirement of your employment with BD and of your ability to attend at certain customer sites.
  • Home based position with daily travel to local customers as well as regional overnight travel. The ideal candidate will reside close to a major airport. The position requires flexible working hours, including some nights and weekends.

Le spécialiste du déploiement I peut être amené à représenter l'équipe de déploiement de solutions lors des processus d'amélioration continue et de préparation de nouveaux produits ou de nouvelles solutions, afin d'apporter son expertise et d'évaluer l'incidence et les changements pour l'organisation chargée de la mise en œuvre.

Ce poste sur le terrain doit être basé en Ontario, au Québec ou au Nouveau-Brunswick, doit pouvoir voyager entre 80 % et 100 % du temps, selon les besoins de l'entreprise.

  • Installer l'équipement voulu dans les locaux des clients, notamment : configuration du matériel et des logiciels, formation des intervenants du client à nos solutions et activités de mise en service.
  • Respecter les méthodologies et les outils de mise en œuvre des solutions pour les médicaments de BD.
  • Fournir des services de résolution de problèmes, de dépannage et de conseil en matière de systèmes selon les besoins du client.
  • Gérer les escalades de projet afin d'obtenir des résultats favorables.
  • Remplir en temps voulu la documentation interne de l'entreprise et celle relative aux projets.
  • Effectuer diverses tâches supplémentaires qui sont attribuées.


Formation et expérience requises :
  • Diplôme d'études collégiales, DEP, AEC ou DEC, en génie mécanique, en mécanique industrielle, en automatisation ou dans un autre domaine technique.
  • Au moins deux années d'expérience pertinente à un poste semblable, notamment dans l'installation ou la mise en œuvre de matériel et de logiciels d'automatisation. Une expérience en tant que technicien ou assistant en pharmacie peut être prise en considération.

  • Expérience/connaissance des systèmes liés aux dossiers médicaux électroniques, des systèmes d'information hospitaliers et des systèmes d'information pharmaceutiques et compréhension des processus de travail en pharmacie et en soins infirmiers, un atout.


Exigences physiques et Environnement de travail :
  • Capacité à soulever au moins 18 kg (40 lb).
