Full Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Bid Manager, you'll prepare the technical and commercial proposals that win new equipment business for Siemens Energy. You'll bring deep technical expertise to New Unit Centrifugal Compressor applications, guide clients through complex decisions, and translate engineering solutions into compelling, competitive offers. Working across a global team, you'll help set Siemens Energy apart in the market - and directly drive new business in the process.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Review and interpret client requisitions and specifications for new equipment - across Energy, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical markets.
  • Develop solutions through technical expertise that technically and commercially differentiate Siemens Energy's offerings from the competition.
  • Develop Siemens Energy equipment selections using aerodynamic, thermodynamic, rotor dynamic, material, and package selection tools.
  • Lead Bid Strategy discussions for new turbo opportunities, articulating the technical and value advantages of Siemens Energy's products and services.
  • Prepare Buyout RFQs (request for quotation) and engage with major sub-suppliers to secure solutions that benefit both the client and Siemens Energy.
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and prepare technical/execution risk assessments.
  • Actively participate in client clarification and kick-off meetings.
What You Bring
  • A degree in Mechanical, Petrochemical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience, with 3+ years in a relevant role. Candidates with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
  • Background in roles such as Proposal Engineer, Application Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Process Engineer, Design Engineer, or Project Engineer, Commissioning/Field Engineer, with a concentration in turbo- machinery or related rotating equipment (e.g., Centrifugal Compressors/ Pumps, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • A global mindset and comfort collaborating across cultures and time zones.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% globally for project presentations, bid clarifications, training, and kickoff meetings.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience
  • Experience with OEMs, LNG, or EPC projects.
  • Understanding of pricing, costing and equipment selection.
  • Knowledge of commercial or technical bidding or quoting.
  • International experience.
  • In addition to fluency in English, proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
