Full Job Description
Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP seeks a Benefits Program Manager to join their team. They are looking for someone that will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing employee benefits programs in the Firm. Womble is looking for someone with at least seven years of experience in benefits administration, HR management, or related field, as well as 3 years in a leadership position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design and development of comprehensive benefits programs, including health insurance, healthcare initiatives, retirement plans, life insurance, voluntary benefits, etc.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure our benefits offerings remain competitive and meet the needs of our workforce across all offices.
  • Collaborate with other Benefits leaders and Talent Management groups to align benefits strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Conduct a gap analysis of benefit needs across the organization and assess the viability of any proposed benefit plan changes.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, eligibility verification and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA by staying informed of legislative changes and coordinating with legal and compliance teams.
  • Partner with HRIS and Payroll teams to optimize benefits administration processes and enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
  • Optimize HRIS capabilities to automate benefits administrative functions and make mobile accessible, where feasible.
  • Partner with Benefits Administrator and Benefits Analyst on the development and implementation of communication strategies to programs to educate employees about their benefits options, enrollment periods, and any changes or updates to the Firm's offerings to all levels of employees and Partners in all locations.
  • Work with vendors and internal staff to create informative materials, presentations, and online resources to help employees understand the value of their benefits and make informed decisions.
  • Deliver education programming on the available benefit and retirement offerings.
  • Work with the Benefits Director to evaluate, select, and manage relationships with benefit vendors, including consultants, insurance providers and retirement plan administrators.
  • Involved in the strategy decisions for contract negotiations, pricing terms, and service level agreements to optimize value for the organization while ensuring high quality benefits offerings.
  • Monitor vendor performance and conduct regular meetings to address issues or concerns.
  • Work with Benefits Administrator on annual budgeting for all benefit and retirement plans.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting for benefits-related data, including employee participation, costs, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and file necessary reports and disclosures, such as Form 5500 filings and annual ACA reporting.
  • Coordinate audits and assessments of benefits programs to ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.
  • Knowledge of ERISA rules and compliance.
  • Experience reviewing Plan Documents and SPDs.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR).
  • 7+ years of experience in benefits administration HR management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results, foster collaboration, and champion a culture of continuous improvement/change within the organization.


COMPENSATION: The national average salary range for this role is $96,000-$157,000. Starting salary will be determined based on location, qualifications and experience.
