Manager, Benefits & Compensation

Position Overview:

The Manager of Benefits & Compensation will have full oversite of the US employee benefits programs. Leads the strategy, design, and administration of benefit programs across the region. Drives the evaluation of benefit programs, ensures alignment with organizational objectives and a competitive position in the marketplace. Implements administration of employee benefit programs.

Partner with the Global Compensation & Rewards team to support the implementation of compensation programs and practices across North America, providing market insights and analysis to help attract, retain, and engage talent.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strategic oversight of health, welfare, retirement, executive benefits, time-off, wellbeing and ancillary benefit programs across the region.
  • Partner with regional P&C, Legal, Finance, Payroll, and external vendors to ensure compliance with enrollment and benefit life cycle.
  • Use data to assess program performance, utilization, employee needs and benchmark against market trends and peer companies.
  • Lead U.S. Benefit Committee, develop and present recommendations for new and/or improved employee benefit plans and cost-saving measures, aligning with both Senior Leadership, and employee benefit needs for US.
  • Manage benefit carrier and vendor relationships around health & welfare.
  • Develop budgets, perform data analysis, provide reporting, and monitor costs of benefit plans.
  • Conduct benefit audits and comply with annual requirements (HSA/FSA, DCP, 401K and frozen pension plan, ACA, PCORI, ARPA, etc.)
  • Partner with Communications for each entity to develop and deliver clear benefit communications. Leverage technology and optimizing digital platforms to streamline benefit administration and ensure data accuracy. Oversee annual enrollment activities for US employees using benefit platforms for group enrollment events, annual plan updates or adjustments, dissemination of benefit plan information, and other plan activities.
  • Counsel employees regarding benefits coverage. Serve as customer service advocate for employees requesting information regarding company benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee and administer full leave life cycle. This includes ADA/accommodation, state/federal leaves and process internal leave programs.
  • Leave tracking in Workday, ADP and with leave vendor. Communicate with employee on leave process, communicate with local P&C/management on leave status and manage leave vendor on process to ensure timely status updates on leave of absence.
  • Partner with Payroll, local P&C and Finance on benefit impacted issues.
  • Reconcile, process monthly group health and welfare benefits.
  • Partner with stakeholders regarding M&A/divestures from a benefit perspective
  • Process and maintain data records to ensure compliance with all legal requirements of various assigned programs (OSHA, Medicare Creditable Coverage, etc.). Preparation and filing of required legal reports.
  • Provide support and mentorship to employees and P&C team as needed.

Compensation:

  • Partner with the Global Performance & Rewards team to implement compensation programs and provide North America market insights and recommendations.
  • Analyze market compensation data, including Mercer and other benchmarking resources, to support competitive and equitable pay practices.
  • Support the administration of compensation programs, salary structures, and annual compensation processes for North America-based positions.
  • Provide compensation analysis and guidance to business leaders and P&C partners in alignment with global frameworks and local market conditions.
  • Collaborate with the Global Performance & Rewards team to execute total rewards initiatives and support job evaluation and compensation practices across North America.
