Interstate Bearing Systems, a leading distributor of high-quality bearings and power transmission products, is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to oversee operations at our Billings Montana location. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in the field, excels in account development, and has a passion for building high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities:Branch & Operational Leadership- Oversee daily branch operations including inventory control, order fulfillment, logistics, and facility management to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
Outside Sales & Account Development- Personally manage a portfolio of top accounts and actively engage with new prospects to grow branch revenue.
- Spend significant time in the field meeting with customers, uncovering needs, and delivering solutions that strengthen our market position.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans in collaboration with the outside and inside sales teams.
- Lead by example in customer engagement and prospecting, setting the tone for a sales-first culture.
Team Building & Culture- Build and sustain a results-driven, customer-focused culture rooted in trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop sales, customer service, and warehouse staff, fostering ownership and pride in serving our customers.
- Drive a culture that embraces growth, collaboration, and performance.
Financial & Business Management- Manage branch P&L including forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
- Monitor sales performance, margins, and customer activity to make informed, strategic decisions.
Market Strategy & Reporting- Stay engaged with industry trends, competitor moves, and local customer needs to guide branch strategy.
- Provide timely reporting on sales metrics, key customer activity, and branch performance to senior leadership.
Qualifications:Required- 5-7 years of leadership experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, construction, or agriculture sectors.
- Proven success in outside sales and account management with a clear track record of revenue
- growth.
- Hands-on experience managing teams and directly interacting with customers.
- Knowledge of bearings, power transmission, or related industrial products.
- Strong operational and financial management skills.
Preferred- Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Established network in the Billings-area industrial market.
