Job Summary

The Team
The Business and Finance team at Prince George Regional Correctional Centre is a small, established unit that plays a critical role in supporting a 24/7 institution, working closely with operational leaders and ministry partners to ensure seamless financial and administrative services. In this role, you will lead a capable team responsible for budgets, payroll, accounts payable, procurement, and inmate trust, with the opportunity to make a visible and meaningful impact on the centre's day-to-day operations.

The Role
Reporting to the Warden, this role provides strategic leadership and oversight of the centre's financial and administrative operations, including budget planning and forecasting, resource management, procurement, contracts, and the development of sound business practices and controls. As a key member of the senior leadership team, this role delivers financial analysis and advice that supports informed decision-making, operational effectiveness, and the delivery of correctional services within a complex, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Diploma in a business or financial related discipline plus three years related experience, or
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience;

Related experience includes:
  • Budget management including development, analysis, forecasting and control.
  • Financial management or administrative operations such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, payroll and related systems, expenditure monitoring and control.
  • Financial analysis and reporting.
  • Contract and/or procurement management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Excel with high proficiency at the intermediate level.
  • Experience in the coordination, delivery and maintenance of high quality customer service.
  • Two years supervisory experience.

Preference my be given to applicants with:
  • Five years related experience
  • Experience in business case development/writing
  • Project management training and/or experience including project costing
