Description

Diagnose machinery problems based upon vibration data, test data, performance data, operational data, mechanical design data, and customer communications. Provide leadership, technical direction, and assistance to the customer, user, and other field personnel in the diagnostic evaluation and long-term maintenance of customers' rotating machinery. Express excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel. Support customer's desires and needs to achieve higher machinery asset and plant reliability. Perform mechanical troubleshooting, condition assessment, and corrective action recommendation including balancing as necessary of customer rotating equipment assets. Complete timely standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements. React to customer required travel in a timely manner, while bringing all required service, testing, and diagnostic equipment. Complete documentation of findings / recommendations / corrective actions. Create, review, and interpret technical reports and customer supplied information. Professionally communicate with customer and other team members. Assess job site safety and perform services as per company and client environmental, health, and safety policies. Understand Term & Conditions commitments, as well as contractual deadlines and requirement. Telecommuting / work from home permitted . Domestic US travel required 60% of the time.

Requirements

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field PLUS 5 years of experience in Machinery diagnostics, vibration and rotordynamic analysis, balancing, reliability assessment or related experience.

Skills Required: Must have experience with: Turbine rotor dynamics analysis; rotating machinery parts, auxiliary systems & operating processes; rotating equipment condition assessment; vibration analysis oversight & services per contract scope; power plant safety & hazards; turbine rotor balancing on low-speed balancing machines; in-situ field balancing (static-couple, 2-plane influence coefficient, multi-state compromise, least squares, compensation, one-shot); vibration acceptance testing (factory & on-site); deriving machine-specific balance coefficients from past data; machine fault diagnosis using vibration, performance, design, maintenance & customer info; setup, data collection & troubleshooting of vibration instrumentation (Bently 3500, ADRE 408, System 1, signal conditioners, proximity/accelerometer/seismic probes); working in a multi-disciplinary team to implement machine modifications for vibration issues; technical input on retrofitting vibration monitoring systems to existing rotating equipment; producing technical vibration reports (machine design, testing, data, diagnostics, corrective actions); application of rotor dynamics, vibration control & signal processing at ISO Category IV analyst level; steam TG operation & alarm response; bearing failure analysis, alignment, IR thermography, oil analysis & motion amplification. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Description

$135,500 - $145,500
