Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Backend Java Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable, cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, AWS cloud services, and Infrastructure as Code. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to modernize enterprise applications while delivering high-quality, maintainable software in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy Java Spring Boot microservices on AWS.
• Build RESTful APIs and containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Deploy and manage applications in AWS cloud environments.
• Participate in architecture discussions, Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to modernize enterprise applications.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code following software engineering best practices.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot application issues as needed.
• Contribute to the development of microservices using Java and Node.js/TypeScript where applicable.
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in Java development.
• 4+ years of experience with Spring Boot.
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, and Amazon S3.
• Experience deploying applications in AWS environments.
• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience working with OpenShift.
• Experience with Apache Kafka.
• Experience developing Node.js and TypeScript microservices.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience serving as a Technical Lead.
• Experience with AWS networking concepts and services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience using Splunk and Dynatrace for monitoring and observability.
• Experience working within Banking or Financial Services environments.
