JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Supervisor, Systems, B-Shift
REPORTING TO: Manufacturing Manager
LOCATION: West Henrietta, NY

ITAR/EAR CRITERIA:
These positions may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of the Manufacturing Supervisor position is to provide supervision to all functions of the Manufacturing process, Materials, Equipment and Facility Maintenance activities for the LSO Systems Value streams including high precision optical system builds utilizing Electronics, Machined Metals, and Optical Lens components, along with quality activities that support these product lines.
A successful supervisor will ensure compliance to company and employee standards while leading by example. This role will interface with production planning to ensure attainable schedules are in place and then deliver as expected. The supervisor must be able to set priorities and work cross-functionally to resolve production issues, escalating when appropriate.

Process Leadership
Provide and share process knowledge and technical skills so that the teams can achieve consistent and sustained manufacturing efficiency and process improvement.
Project and display an engaging, empowering and encouraging leadership style. Lead with direction and vision, continually re-enforcing process standardisation in any form. Develop focus and direction promoting a "one team, one vision" approach. Lead Daily Manufacturing Meetings and develop clear and effective communication tools to advance employee engagement.
Team Development
Provide support and direction to the production technicians, facilitating directional change with team and Process Engineering involvement, and process improvement suggestions that display clear business or process benefit. Lead daily management meetings to update Safety, Quality, and Delivery metrics.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in CI projects, and in conjunction with project team members.
Attend CI workshops as a team member; taking ownership of team actions as required. Assist in the implementation of all CI actions by area. Communicate results through DMM. Support the team members with consistent, clear and engaging communication.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Technical Degree Preferred
• At least two-years of supervisory experience
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Capacity management
• Manufacturing experience in a low volume high mix environment
• Production Planning experience desirable.
• Experience with ERP systems preferred, especially JD Edwards
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with internal stakeholders

• Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented and driven to excellence
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight
• Strong computer skills
• This position is a site-based role
Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $69,200.00 - $103,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
