Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is searching for a Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting a mission-critical, multi-year portfolio in Fort Meade, Maryland. This is a hands-on, technical practitioner role - you'll be designing, building, testing, and deploying real solutions, not overseeing others. Your work will span three major efforts: standing up an enterprise NOC/SOC within an AWS Landing Zone on the TS network fabric, supporting the migration of the Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) into a TS AWS Landing Zone, and designing/deploying an IL5 Windows VDI solution on AWS WorkSpaces. If you're an experienced AWS engineer who loves writing code, solving hard infrastructure problems, and working on high-impact DoD systems, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and deploy an enterprise NOC/SOC in an AWS Landing Zone on the TS network fabric.
  • Support the migration of the Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) into the TS AWS Landing Zone, including deployment of multiple third-party containerized software solutions, maintenance of EKS clusters, and establishment of hybrid on-prem/cloud networking.
  • Design, build, and deploy an IL5 Windows VDI solution on AWS WorkSpaces, including Active Directory deployment and policy automation, Windows image hardening, and WorkSpaces provisioning/lifecycle automation via Infrastructure as Code.
  • Write, test, and troubleshoot code across the full stack to deliver working, production-ready solutions.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable deployment cycles.
  • Apply security best practices across IAM, VPC, and KMS configurations.
  • Monitor system health and performance using CloudWatch and OpenSearch.

Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer, with strong hands-on AWS experience.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification .
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using AWS CDK (preferred) or Terraform.
  • Proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
  • Working knowledge of core AWS services: Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS/DynamoDB.
  • Experience with AWS security services: IAM, VPC, KMS.
  • Networking experience, including segmentation, routing, network security, hybrid networking (S2S VPN and/or Direct Connect), DNS, and load balancing.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as CodePipeline and/or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS.
  • Familiarity with serverless/microservice patterns (Lambda, SQS, SNS).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AWS Landing Zone Accelerator.
  • SOC/NOC design or operations experience.

Requirements

  • Must be within driving distance of Fort Meade, MD or willing to relocate (Relocation Assistance Package Available).
  • Must be willing to work on-site 2-3 days per week, with up to 5 days per week on-site during key milestones and deployments.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-focused environment.

What is Important to Us:
  • You are an excellent communicator in writing and speaking.
  • You have the ability to work independently but also value teamwork.
