Position Description:

CGI is seeking a AWS Data Engineer to join a fast paced team supporting large scale data processing and analytics initiatives within the mortgage finance industry. This is a great opportunity for a hands on engineer who thrives in an agile environment, enjoys solving tough data problems, and wants exposure to mortgage loan data ecosystems at scale.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Lafayette, LA, Knoxville, TN, Birmingham, AL

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role, you will build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using AWS big data services, working closely with cross functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. You'll take ownership of debugging complex issues, documenting technical processes, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement through automation and CI/CD best practices.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5+ years of hands on experience with Python (3.9+), Java, and JavaScript
. Solid SQL skills, including query optimization and troubleshooting
. Practical experience across AWS big data tools - EMR, Redshift, Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, Spectrum, S3, and CloudWatch
. Comfortable writing shell scripts (Bash preferred) in Linux/Unix environments
. Sharp problem solving instincts - able to break down complex issues and find practical, logical fixes
. Background working in Agile/Scrum teams, with day to day use of JIRA
. Experience building or supporting automation within data workflows
. Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and practices (Jenkins, GitLab) - version control, testing, build, and deployment
. Curiosity to learn mortgage loan data structures and how they flow through the business
. Ability to adapt quickly when priorities or requirements shift, without missing deadlines

Desired Skillset:

. Experience using GenAI tools like GitHub Copilot to speed up coding and testing

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $110,100.00 $139,300.00.
