AVP, Service Line Sales Leader

About the role

As an AVP, Client Partner, you will make an impact by driving strategic growth across business services, IoT solutions, and digital sales and marketing programs for the industrial manufacturing and automotive sectors. You will be a valued member of the Sales team and work collaboratively with marketing, delivery, solution, product, and innovation teams.

In this role, you will:
  • Drive growth by developing outcome-oriented value propositions that connect business challenges with tailored IoT, business services, and digital sales solutions designed to improve efficiency and revenue.
  • Lead end-to-end sales pursuits by qualifying opportunities, shaping deal strategies, coordinating internal teams, and delivering competitive proposals that support long-term engagements.
  • Develop account growth plans by mapping key stakeholders, understanding decision cycles, identifying business pain points, and prioritizing high-impact opportunities.
  • Partner with marketing, delivery, solution, product, and innovation teams to develop integrated campaigns, scalable solutions, compelling business cases, and clear implementation approaches.
  • Manage commercial negotiations, portfolio performance, pipeline metrics, revenue realization, competitive intelligence, and market insights to improve profitability and refine sales strategies.
  • Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead through strategic agility, value creation, AI-led innovation, disciplined execution, collaborative ecosystem building, and the amplification of human potential.

What you must have to be considered
  • Extensive experience in advanced sales and marketing practices, including complex deal shaping, value-based selling, account-based strategies, and data-driven campaign execution.
  • Strong knowledge of IoT concepts, including connected devices, data platforms, analytics, and remote monitoring, with the ability to apply these capabilities to relevant industry use cases.
  • Broad expertise in business services, including consulting, managed operations, and digital platforms, with the ability to connect technology capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
  • Proven experience in industrial manufacturing environments, with an understanding of asset uptime, process efficiency, quality, and related investment priorities.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry trends, including connected vehicles, smart factories, and evolving mobility services.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, technical teams, procurement groups, and operations personnel in global environments.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and forecasting capabilities, including experience managing large opportunity portfolios and prioritizing resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with strategic vision, value-focused thinking, innovation, disciplined execution, collaboration, and a commitment to developing people in line with the Cognizant Way to Lead.
  • Proven track record of building trust, demonstrating ownership, exercising sound judgment, and supporting associate growth and success.

  • Experience developing proposals and presentations that articulate quantified benefits, compelling business cases, and implementation approaches for senior decision-makers.
  • Experience using digital sales tools and analytics to prioritize leads, track engagement, and refine messaging based on buyer behavior.
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving techniques to reduce risk in complex deals, manage objections, and identify options that align business constraints with organizational goals.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues, sharing consultative selling practices, and enabling cross-functional teams through account context, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
  • A continuous learning mindset and current knowledge of evolving digital technologies, IoT standards, and market dynamics.
  • Experience thriving in complex, fast-evolving environments by translating strategy into action, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and championing continuous learning and curiosity.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $172,000 and $317,000, depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
