Insurity's Next AVP, Product Management

The AVP, Product Management will lead and develop a high-performing product management organization responsible for defining product strategy, driving innovation, and delivering differentiated solutions for the insurance market. This leader will oversee products throughout their lifecycle-from concept and planning through development, go-to-market, launch, and post-launch optimization.

The role requires a customer-centric, data-driven leader who can translate market needs, competitive insights, and customer feedback into compelling product strategies and measurable business results. The AVP will partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services, Finance, and executive leadership to align priorities, accelerate execution, and support profitable growth.

What Our AVP, Product Management Will Do
  • Lead, inspire, mentor, and develop product managers, product owners, user experience professionals, and business analysts.
  • Define, own, and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead product programs across the full lifecycle, from concept through post-launch performance management.
  • Conduct and champion market, competitive, customer, and user research using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Identify new product opportunities, market extensions, and enhancements to existing products.
  • Drive innovation across the product portfolio and anticipate changing customer and market needs.
  • Develop product business cases that support revenue growth, market differentiation, and investment decisions.
  • Partner with Engineering and R&D to evaluate delivery cost, timing, quality, scope, and prioritization trade-offs.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Professional Services on go-to-market strategy, including pricing, positioning, packaging, and product messaging.
  • Ensure customer outcomes, usability, and user experience are central to product development and measurement.
  • Support strategic customer and prospect engagements, industry forums, conferences, and executive presentations.
  • Establish effective product-development practices, operating rhythms, reporting, and performance measures.
  • Promote clear communication of product strategy, roadmaps, and development plans across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current on insurance-industry trends, technology developments, competitive dynamics, and product-management best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel required: 0-25%

Who We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience; MBA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in leadership roles within web-based product development.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager or in a comparable product leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing product-management teams.
  • Strong insurance-industry knowledge gained through professional experience, insurance certifications, or both.
  • Experience taking products from strategy and discovery through development, launch, and ongoing optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and communicate product roadmaps and business cases.
  • Experience partnering effectively with Engineering/R&D and cross-functional business leaders.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum practices and product-development tools.
  • Ability to use customer, market, competitive, and product data to make decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPCU, CBAP, or other relevant insurance or product-management certification.
  • Scrum Product Owner or comparable Agile certification.
  • Experience with insurance software, policy administration, billing, claims, data, or related platforms.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, web services, REST APIs, and enterprise software architectures.
  • Experience with pricing, packaging, positioning, and commercial launch strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

We share a career level salary as a guideline; however, actual salary may vary based on your experience and qualifications.
